River Hotel - Oxford

Excellent hotel with free wi-fi, a cozy lounge area, and helpful staff who once assisted me with SIM cards. I always enjoy my stays and feel right at home. I'm returning for Christmas!

The breakfast was savoury, plus the location was brilliant...

Intimate hotel, didn't feel like leaving.

It was modest and functional where bags can be left after checking out, good enough for one night. The hotel had great and lovely location really close to the railway station, situated on the bank of the river Thames, the castle, and the historic area of Oxford.

My experience was enjoyable, especially the breakfast that included lovely thick bacon. I was able to walk to a nearby pub recommended by the staff. The staff showed genuine interest in my activities.

The WiFi was not working , and the room I stayed in had a small TV which felt inadequate for my needs.

Everything in the room screamed neglect!!! From a filthy wardrobe to a rotten window frame, it reminded me of no one cared. A thorough cleaning would do wonders!!!

Great for families seeking convenience

The breakfast was delicious, beautifully cooked Full English with perfectly poached eggs, and a good selection of cereals and fruit. They recommended a peaceful riverside walk into town.

It wasn't affordable, but still reasonable for what we got.

We had a lovely time in a cozy family room and really appreciated the ground-floor access, which made it so convenient! There's a great little garden by the river and a comfy lounge to unwind in after a day out. The room could use a refresh, but it didn't take away from our overall experience. Definitely recommend checking it out! 😊

Comfortable stay with a hearty breakfast

A good two-night family stay. The top-floor room delivered a lovely view, while the cozy atmosphere was great. The veggie breakfast with river views was a highlight. For peace, ensure windows are shut at night. A short, pleasant stroll to the town center made exploring easy.

The complimentary cookies and the cozy honesty bar added a good touch to my stay. I also appreciated the warm plates during breakfast, a nice detail.

Charming stay with a good breakfast

The breakfast was really good, with a good variety of options, including a wonderful cooked breakfast with a view of the river. The staff were great. My room was comfortable and clean, although the bathroom's small tub design was a bit tricky for an easy shower. I would definitely consider returning!

Staying at river was lovely! The staff were friendly and always quick to help. My room was cleaned every day without even asking. The location was perfect, just a pleasant walk to the train station and all the attractions. I especially enjoyed the complimentary coffee and cookies.

Friendly staff and great breakfast, but bathroom was a bit cramped for families.

The river hotel was super nice, the view of thames from my window was awsome. I really liked the english breakfast, it was yum! The staff were very friendly n extra helpful. I felt comfy in my room. It's not fancy but its quirky vibe is kinda cool.

i wish the bed was softer, and it could be noisy at night sometimes.
